ABUJA: STAMPEDE AS TINUBU APOINTED MINISTERS TAKE OATH OF OFFICE

0

The nation's capital Abuja was in turmoil as President Bola Tinubu took office to call the appointed ministers, who would today form the Federal Executive Council (FEC). In a statement from the chief information officer at the federation's government secretary's office, Willie Bassey, the process went smoothly as each of them took less than 10 minutes to complete.

He also said that the invitations for three people invited by the appointed minister were successfully given out to each person and then forwarded to the invitees. Bassey also said that arrangements have been made to transport designated ministers from the Office of the Secretary of the Federal Government to the swearing-in ceremony site.

I said: “We can officially inform our colleagues (journalists) that the document will close today, so far we have successfully documented more than 40 appointed ministers. “The process was smooth as there were four registration points and it took ministers less than 10 minutes to complete the process.

“In addition, invitations for the three guests of the appointed ministers were successfully distributed to each minister for subsequent distribution to their guests. "In the meantime, arrangements have been made to transport them from the Federal Government Secretariat's Office at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning to the swearing-in ceremony site."

On August 16, President Tinubu delivered the portfolio to the appointed ministers nine days after they were confirmed by the Senate. Designated Ministers started their documents on Saturday and finished the process yesterday. The documentary exercise takes place at the Office of the Secretary of the Federal Government.

Forty-five of President Bola Tinubu's 48 ministerial candidates were confirmed by the Senate on August 7. While the Northwest has 10 sets, the Northeast has 6, the Central North has 8, the Southwest has 9, the Southeast and the South have 5 sets each. President Tinubu retained his oil portfolio. Three of the nominees – former governor Kaduna; Nasir el-Rufai, former deputy governor of Taraba; Abubakar Danladi and Delta State candidate Stella Okotete have not been confirmed due to security reports.
